Clashes erupt between protesters and the security forces outside Beirut’s Central Bank

Protests erupted on Wednesday outside the headquarters of Lebanon’s Central Bank.

Angry demonstrators clashed with security forces over the country’s economic crisis after the Lebanese pound sank to a record low against the US dollar.

Lebanon’s pound has collapsed since 2019 when the economy crumbled under a mountain of debt.
